Born in Miami and raised in Costa Rica, Adriana has had a lifelong penchant for physical activity and the natural world, both of which she attests to be profoundly healing.
She’s been a competitive athlete since childhood, performing in the upper ranks of champion highschool soccer and volleyball teams and reaching a ranking of #87 in the world in juniors tennis. After graduating from Duke University with a double major in biology and environmental science and policy in 2000, Adriana continued to pursue her passion in tennis and competed for one and a half years in the professional women’s circuit.
She was forced to cut short her tennis career due to a chronic back injury, which she self-healed against all doctors’ prognosis via a disciplined yoga practice and increased body awareness.
In 2009, she wanted to take her experience of sparking the body’s healing capacities to another level and attended Educating Hands School of Massage in Miami to become a holistic massage therapist.
In addition to Miami, Adriana has worked as a holistic therapist at special events and transformative retreat settings around the world in San Francisco, Hawaii, Saudi Arabia and Costa Rica.
